Police Looking for Help in Identifying Robbery Suspects

On July 17, 2010 at 12:43 P.M., two black male suspects entered the Sunoco gas station in the 2900 block of Victory Blvd. The suspects produced a shotgun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspects left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in trying to identify the suspects. Photos of the suspects are attached.

Portsmouth Police Using License Plate Recognition System
In May 2009 the Portsmouth Police Department was awarded a grant from the Department of Criminal Justice Services for a new tool to combat stolen vehicles. Nicknamed “PARMIS” – the Portsmouth Auto Recovery and Mobile Imaging System is being deployed to dramatically increase the recovery of stolen vehicles.

The Portsmouth Police Department has entered into a cooperative partnership with Corona Solutions to have calls for service incident locations (addresses limited to street blocks) along with summarized information (# units responded, time consumed by units, 12-month area trend, etc.) available via the Internet.
